Being Local… Important to Portland

For those of you outside of the state, to say that Portlanders are passionate about local food, products, business, etc. is a bit of an understatement. Here’s a two-and-a-half minute education on Portland’s local leanings. Enjoy. And remember, being local is EXTREMELY important to Portland.

When I try to explain the importance of being local to out-of-state clients – tying in with the local community and Portlander’s preference for anything and all that is indeed – LOCAL – I find myself constantly referencing this bit on Portlandia.

That’s right, Johnson & Johnson’s o.b. Ultra brand tampons recently found themselves listed on eBay for up to $99 a box after flying off the shelves at drug stores once rumor hit that the popular applicator free product would no longer be available.

Apparently, o.b. had underestimated the passionate following of their Ultra brand but happily, they’ve turned this mishap into an opportunity to further endear their fans to the brand while no doubt building a larger following.

Half-Time at Jeld Wen Field … Go Timbers!!

Edge Multimedia coordinated the half-time event for the May 25th Portland Timbers versus AFC Ajax game on behalf of D.R. Horton.  The crowd cheered as our four contestants dressed in pirate garb -complete with an eye patch- dribbled a soccer ball around treasure chests, took a shot on goal, and then shouted “D “AAR” Horton, Go Timbers” in their best pirate voice!

The event was timed and our fastest competitor was crowned the winner!  Congrats to Ted N Tracy III for winning the grand prize: a pizza party with a Timbers player hosted by D.R. Horton.
