Elmer’s Spreads Holiday Cheer

Elmer’s guest donates a meal

This November, Edge client Elmer’s Restaurants succeeded in spreading holiday cheer by reaching out to their local communities and supporting families, children and homeless people who are hurting and hungry. Elmer’s implemented fundraising programs within their restaurants that encouraged diners to donate and help those in need, whether it was donating a meal to a homeless shelter, or purchasing a symbolic paper sparrow to benefit hurting families. Elmer’s positively affected these communities this holiday season:

  • Portland, OR: benefitting Portland Rescue Mission
  • Boise, ID: benefitting Boise Rescue Mission
  • Pocatello, ID: benefitting Idaho Food Bank
  • Grants Pass, OR: benefitting Sparrow Clubs
  • Roseburg, OR: benefitting Sparrow Clubs

By partnering with local radio stations such as K103-FM in Portland), K-Hits in Boise and various others, along with some strategic digital marketing on Facebook, full-service ad agency Edge Multimedia helped Elmer’s Restaurants spread awareness for a handful of non-profits – raising not only funds to benefit their causes but overall goodwill in the communities served by Elmer’s and these non-profits. Here’s some feedback we heard from Elmer’s guests:

I’ve been thinking about this for some time. Seeing these banners and advertisements, and knowing that we can all help with just a little bit of money. Just think a couple bucks from each one of us could go so far.

I just gave $7.52 to feed a family of four. Great work guys and ladies. Light and Love to this Thanksgiving.

Love Elmer’s and even more now.

We were more than happy to donate tonight while having a great dinner at Elmer’s on 99 and Garde.

What a wonderful gesture on this, my favorite holiday (no gifts, no religious significance, just thanks for what we have and now this beautiful opportunity to share for such a small donation. My intent….to stop by Elmer’s and just donate. Thank you Elmer’s. You renew my faith in my fellow human beings by doing this.

In an economic climate where advertising must MATTER to your target audience, this initiative over-delivered on all points. To our client, Elmer’s Restaurants – it’s a true pleasure to work with you and extend the heart you have for the communities where you do business in such an effective way. Thank you for all that you do!
