Our challenge was to help trade school client NW Renewable Energy Institute (NW-REI) fill their monthly class starts – reaching the right group of people with the opportunity to become a wind turbine technician – and doing that over and over to get each class at capacity.
One of the goals of our digital marketing campaign was to increase informational seminar attendance. Each month, NW-REI holds about three informational seminars on campus to introduce the 6-month Wind program and share more about what it takes to become a wind turbine technician. Once potential students know more about the program and the potential of the career path, enrollment increases.
We added a few key digital elements into the marketing plan and saw the campaign goals met in a very short period of time.
What we did:
- E-flyer Marketing – monthly e-flyers highlighting the seminar dates, showcasing the program itself and making it easy to enroll online.
- Digital Press Releases – monthly press releases released online that included SEO keywords and featured seminar opportunities to learn more information. These dramatically increased the impressions on the client’s keywords (from less than a thousand a day to almost 10,000 a day); improving organic search traffic and keyword authority significantly.
- Facebook Advertising – Using NW-REI’s fan base and sponsored stories, we got the word out on the seminar dates which notably increased social interactions around the event pages and fan page – providing an extremely high value return-on-investment over a short period of time.
The results: Classes are full, the NW Renewable Energy Institute Admissions Department is thrilled as well as the Vice President of Marketing. We continue to monitor, tweak and stay on our toes to ensure that these goals continue to be met or surpassed so that the program can grow.
